Q: What are your plans for after you graduate?
A: My plan after I graduate is to go to college, hopefully Miami University. I’m hoping to study something in business, probably either accounting or marketing.
Q: What was your favorite class that you took in high school?
A: AP Lang, which I took my junior year for English, because it was really hard, but I really liked the stuff we were doing, and I feel like it was very valuable to take.
Q: What kind of music do you listen to?
A: My favorite for a while has been Harry Styles, and I’ve recently been really liking just pop music in general.
Q: If you could eat dinner with three people, alive or dead, who would they be?
A: I think I’d like to eat dinner with Harry Styles. I feel like it’d be kind of cool to meet like Rosa Parks and Walt Disney.
Q: If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?
A: One of my dream vacations for a while has been to go to Seattle, Washington. That’s where my parents got married, and it was really pretty there, so I’d love to visit.
Q: What is your favorite hobby and how did you get into it?
A: My favorite hobby is probably drawing or art. It’s really fun for me. Last year, I took drawing one and two. I really liked those classes because they were just fun and relaxed. I’ve always been an art person and ever since sophomore year, I’ve had an art class. So, I like to draw and do something creative.
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life?
A: One of the most influential people in my life has been my mom because she’s a great role model and she is very compassionate. She really cares about and loves everything that she does.
Q: What achievement are you most proud of?
A: My junior year, I started a club called Hawks Against Cancer, where, at the time, it was just a smaller group where we donated care packages to local cancer patients. Now, it’s combined with Relay for Life and Dragonfly to make a bigger organization. I’m really proud of that because I’ve done a lot of work for it.
Q: Do you enjoy spending time outside?
A: I do. I mean, I wouldn’t say I’m the biggest outside person, but I do enjoy it.
Q: What is your favorite place you have ever traveled to?
A: My favorite place I’ve ever traveled to is Nashville, Tennessee. I went there during, not this past summer, but the summer before, and it was really cool. It was a little bit overwhelming, but I did like it. And I also have to see one of my favorite singers there, too, Louis Tomlinson.
Q: Do you have any favorite TV shows or movies?
A: My favorite TV show, it’s been my favorite TV show for a long time, is Gilmore Girls. I’ve watched that show probably like 20 times. I’ve literally loved that show since I was like 10, and I’ve never had a show that’s been more enjoyable to me.
Q: What was your favorite show or movie as a child?
A: My favorite movie as a child was probably “Frozen.” That was like, a good obsession for a good two years.
Q: What is your favorite family tradition?
A: Every Christmas Eve we go out to look at Christmas lights.
Q: What do you think is the most important quality in a friend?
A: I think the most important quality in a friend is being loyal and inclusive. I feel like I’m not the most outgoing person, so having people who will include you in things, even if I don’t necessarily say I want to be included, is a good quality.
Q: What time of the year is your favorite and why?
A: My favorite time of the year is definitely spring. Especially in April, May, I feel like the weather is getting warmer and it just feels a little bit lighter than the rest of the seasons, because it feels warm, it’s almost summertime, school’s getting out. It’s just a very light feeling.
Q: How do you like to spend a rainy day?
A: I like to spend rainy days inside, just relaxing, sometimes baking cookies or baking a cake, listening to soft music. I think it’s really fun to take a day to just relax.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant?
A: My favorite restaurant is [Raising] Canes. I love that place, it’s really good to me, it makes me really happy. That’s where I went for homecoming, actually.
Q: What is your most influential or memorable volunteer experience?
A: The one that I volunteer at the most is Reach Out Lakota. I helped volunteer with their Back to School program. I’ve sorted school supplies for different people for their program. I’ve always really liked doing that, because it’s always been right before school starts and it just gets me in the school spirit.
Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting high school?
A: Don’t be afraid to try new things and step out of your comfort zone a little bit. I feel like in high school there’s going to be a lot of new people. My entire friend group right now is different than my freshman year friend group. So, don’t be afraid to meet new people and try new things that you’re interested in, and start a club. I highly recommend everyone take the class that you want to take. Don’t hold yourself back because you’re scared.
Q: What do you want people to remember you for?
A: Being a person who was always there for people and helpful in any way that I possibly can. One, with starting my club and helping others in the community, but also just around the school day-to-day, helping others with whatever they need help with, or saying “hi” to them when they need it, or stuff like that.
Q: What would you do with a million dollars?
A: I would definitely save some of it and donate to some sort of charity.
Q: What are two things that you can’t live without
A: My phone and probably ice cream. I love ice cream.
Q: What is your secret talent?
A: I have a pretty good memory. If you tell me something about yourself, I feel like I’m pretty good at remembering it after a long time. I remember little conversations, which is strange.
Q: How would you describe yourself in three words?
A: I describe myself as understanding, quiet, and accepting.
Q: If you could have any new talent, what would you choose?
A: My hobby is art, but I feel like I would like to be better at it.
