East students participate in Ally Week, hosted by East’s Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) with the support of The Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a nonprofit organization that works to ensure safe schools for LGBTQ+ students on Sept. 29. Each of the signed colored papers signify to the student body that those individuals want to promote acceptance for all. With papers that say both “I ❤️ my allies” and “I am an ally”, GSA hopes to “show some love” for everybody.
