Halloween is just around the corner and so are Halloween parties. To jazz up your party, here are some fun and easy recipes to make sure you are the spookiest house on the block.
Materials:
- 6 cups of marshmallows
- 5 cups of rice krispy cereal
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- Red food coloring
- Yellow food coloring
- ¼ cup of chocolate chips
Procedure:
1. Lay down parchment/wax paper in a 9 x13 pan and set aside.
2. Combine the marshmallows and butter in a large bowl.
3. Microwave the marshmallow butter mixture in thirty second intervals, stirring the mixture after each
thirty second interval until everything is completely melted.
4. Put red food coloring and yellow food coloring in the melted marshmallow butter mixture to achieve the
orange color of your choice.
5. Pour the Rice Krispy cereal into the marshmallow butter mixture and stir until all the rice cereal is coated
in the orange marshmallow mixture.
6. Pour the rice cereal coated in marshmallows in the 9 x 13 pan and flatten it out, making sure the cereal is
compact in the pan. Wait 20 minutes for the mixture to cool
7. Cut the rice cereal mixture into eight equal sections (Although, you can choose to make the sections
bigger or smaller; it depends on how big you want your pumpkins to be).
8. One at a time, take each section into your hands and roll it up into a ball and put it back on the parchment/wax paper.
9. Melt the chocolate in a bowl, stirring the chocolate after every thirty second until completely melted
10. Pour the chocolate into a Ziploc bag. Push all the chocolate to one corner of the bag. Release all the air
out of the bag before closing it.
11. Twist the corner of the Ziploc bag that the chocolate is in and snip off a little bit of the corner of the bag.
12. Pipe chocolate stems on the top of the rolled up rice krispies and wait for the chocolate to harden.
